In this lesson I’ll teach you the classic song Joy to the World in a manner that combines the full chords with the melody notes. This can make for a terrifically fun way to play things, whether you want to play fingerstyle or using a pick. In addition to learning the melody notes, I’ll show a few ways you can fill things out - using either fingerstyle (to play each chord’s bass notes) or a pick (to strum each chord at the start of each measure). I’ll wrap things up with a strum and sing version, if you just want to combine your basic G C D chords with a standard strumming pattern. This one is a blast, let’s get into it!

David is awesome. I hope Santa brings some folks a subscription to his full lessons. I am much more of a hard rock player but volunteer/teach acoustic guitar. David’s material really helps with this and forces me to be a better acoustic player. While he offers lessons in theory you don’t have to go down that path if you don’t want to.
